IELTS Writing(3) - 모의 문제와 모범 답변

by 테리송 2024. 2. 5.

Task 1

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. The diagram below shows how rain water is collected and then treated to be used as drinking water in an Australian town. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. You should write at least 150 words.

The diagram outlines the stages involved in the collection and purification of rainwater for drinking purposes in an Australian town. The process comprises(구성되다, 이뤄지다) several phases, from collection to filtration, followed by chemical treatment and storage.

Initially, rainwater is gathered from house rooftops during rainfall, channeled through(~를 통해 보내다) drainage pipes. This water is then directed to filtration system, where initial purfication occurs, removing particulate matter(부유성 고형물). Post-filtration, the water is stored temporarily in a large tank.

Subsequently, the water undergoes a critical treatment process involving the addition of chemicals, which is essential to ensure its safety for consumption. This chemical treatment effectively eliminates microorganisms(미생물) and other contaminants(오염 물질).

Finally(Initially - Subsequently - Finally), the treated water is routed to(~로 보내지다) the town's homes, becoming available as potable(마셔도 되는) water(음용수). The process is cyclic(순환하는), with the treated water being used, released as waste, and then recycled as rain, thus conserving the town's water resources.

This meticulous(꼼꼼한, 세심한) system underscores(=underline, 강조하다) the importance of both physical and chemical treatments in rendering rainwater safe(~상태가 되게 만들다) for drinking, reflecting the town's commitment to sustainable water management.

Task 2

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task. The best way to teach children to cooperate is through team sports at school. To what extent do you agree or disagree? You should write at least 250 words.

The debate on the optimal(최적의) method for teaching children cooperation often cetres on(~에 초점을 맞추다) the role of team sports. While I acknowledge(인정하다) the significant benefits of team sports in cultivating(기르다, 함양하다) cooperative skills among children, I am of the opinion that they do not constitute(~이 되는 것으로 여겨지다) the definitive approach.

Team sports inherently(본래부터) require collaboration; a single proficient(능숙한) player does not guarantee victory. Success on the field demands that players like strikers and midfielders work in harmony, exemplifying(귀감이 되다) the quintessence(완벽한 전형, 진수, 정수) of teamwork. This collaborative aspect of team sports offers a practical lesson in unity and communication for children. However, the assumption that all students possess an affinity(=rapport, 친밀감) or aptitude(소질, 적성) for sports is flawed. Those lacking athletic prowess(기량) may find themselves marginalized(하찮은 존재 같은 기분이 들게 하다), potentially impeding(지연시키다) the development of their cooperative skills.

I posit(상정하다) that classroom-based team projects offer a more inclusive(폭넓은) and effective means of fostering cooperation. These projects, such as creating a poster collaboratively, invlove a spectrum of skills including research, oragnization, and creative expression. This context necessitates(~을 필요하게 만들다) division of labor, negotiation, and active listening, thereby enhancing cooperation without the competitive pressure found in sports. Moreover, such academic collaborations do not suffer from the disparities in physical abillities that can lead to exclusion in sports.

In summation, while team sports contribute positively to the develpment of cooperative skills among children, they should not be viewed as the paramount(=definitive, 최고의) strategy due to their potential to create inequity. Team-based academic projects emerge as a superior alternative, promoting cooperation in a setting where every child can contribute equitably(공정하게) and meaningfully.
